Missed Lessons and Make-up Lessons:
Absolutely no make-up lessons will be given for missed lessons unless absence is due to serious illness/accident with 24 hour notice given to the school office; no exceptions. Make-up lessons will be limited to 2 per teaching year. No refunds are given for missed or canceled lessons. School activities, doctor appointments, sporting events or vacations do not qualify for make-up lessons.
Care of Students/Injuries:
The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for the students. Parents with students under the age of 12 are asked to remain in the school during classes and until pick-up Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time before or after lessons. Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on or around school property before or after a student’s lesson time.
Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events:
It is the responsibility of the parents or adult student to be aware of school activities such as recitals and dates the school is open and closed. It is the parent’s responsibility to regularly check the board and catalogue to ensure they are informed. It is also the responsibility of the parent or adult student to inform the school of any change in address, telephone number, or payment information.
Withdrawals
From Private Lessons
- A parent or adult student must complete and sign a Withdrawal from Lesson Form and verify at the registrar’s desk with a signature.
- Withdrawals are not valid over the phone, and should be handled at the registrar’s desk and not with the teacher.
- Withdrawal forms must be turned in on or before the fourth lesson of the scheduled tuition month, (See School Calendar) to avoid being charged for the following tuition period. Withdrawal cut off dates will also be posted on the bulletin board.
From Group Courses or Semester Pay Lessons
- Registration for group courses are for entire semester.
- Withdrawals are not allowed two weeks after the student has begun a group course.
- No refunds will be given for students who withdraw from group courses or who have paid for a semester.
- Students may transfer to another, more appropriate course or to another school teacher in the middle of the semester.
In the rare case of injury or illness, tuition may be deferred for instruction at a later date. In case of teacher absence, a refund may be given if the student is unable to schedule a make-up lesson at student’s convenience.
Termination:
Jordan School of Music reserves the right to terminate lessons with a student for any reason, in which case a refund for unused lessons will be given. |
